Despite the attempts to clear the house of whatever has come to be there, the house wins out and the owners eventually flee. GHOSTS AND HAUNTED HOUSES OF MARYLAND BY TRISH GALLAGHER (1988) I found this book to be a real bonus to the first trip that I ever took to Maryland. While it remains far from complete in chronicling all of Maryland’s many ghostly tales, it broke new ground and still manages to be one of the best books ever written about the region. Some of the haunted places in the book include Mount St. Mary’s; the Frenchtown Tavern; Ellicott City; Lilburn; Lawyer’s Hill; Cedar Hill; Point Lookout and many others. I recommend it to anyone with an interest in the area and I am sure that you will find it as enjoyable as I did. $7.95
